9-13 YEARS

14-15 YEARS

For the U14, XTERRA KIDS Off-Road Triathlon is something that the majority of kids in the Sea to Sky will have mountain bikes (non suspension is fine) for and they will have the fitness to successfully finish, though the race will challenge them in a fun way and they can be proud of accomplishing.

XTERRA Youth A will race under the new Super Sprint distance.

SWIM 25m

The 5-8 year olds will have an ~ 25m swim horizontal to the shoreline waist deep so those that want to swim can swim but also can stand up if needed.

BIKE 2km

The bike is ~ 2km. The kids will exit the transition like the adults, and turn right onto  Lost Lake loop and do an out and back. They will come back into transition the way the left before heading out on the their run.

Parents of the younger kids are allowed to follow / help their kids. We will have marshals, traffic cones and signage.

RUN 1km

SWIM 100m

The 9-13 year olds will swim 2x50m laps.

* distance may change down to 50m for 9-15 years if lake temperatures are deemed too cold.

9-13 year olds will get to experience some parts of the adults course. After getting on the bike, they have a short but somewhat steep but rideable Upper Panorama Connector trail to tackle before the nice and flow section of Tin Pants. They then climb Peaches en Regalia and ride Dinah Moe Humm, Disco Boy, Fountain of Love and back on Tin Pants and down  Upper Panorama before turning onto Lost Lake trail and back to Transition.

Again the older kids get to do the starting portion of the adults course. They will head up Molly Hogan until they reach the turn to Grand Wazoo on their right. They will follow Grand Wazoo all the way back down to the finish chute.

Youth A - 14-15 Years - Super Sprint Distance

Our youth Super Sprint race course will be a 2 lap swim with a beach exit between laps. Each lap will be 100m for a total of a 200m swim.

The youth A bike will be 2 laps of the XTERRA Kids 9-13 course, making it ~ 8km. To make the second lap, athletes will follow the signage for lap two and continue on Tin Pants to start lap two. Then once they come off Fountain of Love for the second time, they will follow Tin Pants to where lap two started but this time take a left on lower Panorama (signed) and follow signage back to Lost Lake park and T2.

The youth A run is a one lap loop of approximately 3km. Athletes will leave transition, turning right and heading for Molly Hogan, they will follow Molly Hogan, taking a left on Why Johnny Can’t Read then left again back on Molly Hogan. They will follow Molly Hogan until Polers Rd which they will turn left onto and climb up and take a left on Packard Goose. From there they will follow Packard Goose > I’m not Satisfied > Why Johnny Can’t Read until they turn left onto Molly Hogan and then shortly after a left onto Grand Wazoo. They will follow GRand Wazoo all the way back to Lost Lake Park and to the finish line.
